The Smart Systems group (working through the Intelligent Systems Lab and the Multi-University Centre for SMART systems), has a broad range of electronics and software expertise necessary for the development of practical applied systems exploiting the power of applied artificial intelligence. Applications are condition monitoring, fault diagnosis and intelligent control. Research into innovative magnetic materials investigates the relationship between physical properties, composition, microstructure and processing of magnetic materials, with the aim of developing improved materials and devices.
