NUCLEAR PHYSICS RESEARCH GROUP

Main contact: Prof Alison Bruce

Research in nuclear physics focuses on 2 main areas:
  • the study of excited states which live longer than the norm (so-called isomeric states)
  • the study of the influence of isospin on states in nuclei which have the same numbers of protons and neutrons.

The group consists of gamma-ray experimentalists who work at laboratories around the world.
